Some love stories are written in the skies—and Ben and Jenn’s began with the most romantic kind.

Jenn thought she was heading to Albany International Airport with her boyfriend to go on a plane ride to their weekend getaway. But Ben had something much more unforgettable planned. As a pilot, he arranged for a plane to be ready for them right on the tarmac. While doing pre-flight checks, Ben dropped to a knee and asked Jenn to marry him!

Jenn was in shock. Tears welled up in her eyes as Jake held out a ring and asked her to spend forever with him. Behind them, the airplane served as the perfect symbol of their journey together—grounded in love, but always reaching new heights.

It was cinematic. It was heartfelt. And it was so them.

After taking a few pictures with the plane, we met at Lake George to celebrate their engagement with a session as beautiful

as their proposal. Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, Lake George is one of my many favorite spots for engagement photography—it offers a dreamy mix of peaceful water, mountain views, and cozy lakeside charm that never disappoints.

But the surprises weren't over for Jenn, as Ben had arranged for her best friend, who lived 8 hours away, to meet them while they were doing pictures along the shoreline of Lake George. The moment Jenn realized that her best friend was there, Jenn's face shown with excitement, and she ran to give her best friend a big hug.

We captured beautiful, romantic portraits by the docks, candid laughter as they sat together, and quiet, intimate moments as they watched people pass by. The energy between them was electric—so much joy, anticipation, and tenderness. You could tell they were still soaking in the magic of the proposal, and that joy translated effortlessly into every frame.

Lake George always delivers in beauty, but couples like Ben and Jenn—so clearly in love and fully present with each other—are what really bring a session to life.
