The Proposal: A Moment to Remember

For Colby and Makayla, Saratoga had always held a special place in their hearts. From cozy dates at Druthers Brewing to summer evenings in Lake George, it was an integral part to their love story. So when Colby decided to propose, he knew there was no better place than Downtown Saratoga Springs.

Colby knew that a perfect place to propose was in front of the grand Adelphi Hotel. The plan, tell Makayla that they were going to get drinks before dinner and then drop to a knee right in front of the Adelphi Hotel. The weather was perfect for a night like this. Snow was falling softly and dusting everything all around.

In the hush of falling snow, Colby knelt down and presented a sparkling ring, catching the reflection of the city lights. The world around them seemed to pause as Makayla realized what was happening. Shock, joy and excitement were on her face as she looked Colby in the eyes and said "Yes"!

Capturing the Moment

A surprise proposal wouldn’t be complete without someone there to capture it. Colby had planned to ask the photographer to take a picture of the two of them in front of the hotel, and then drop to his knee. In the falling snow, their photographer snapped photos of the emotional moment—the look of surprise, the laughter, the joyful embrace. With snowflakes swirling around them, every frame was straight out of a fairytale.

With an enthusiastic “Yes!” and a ring glistening on Makayla's finger, the newly engaged couple made their way to Druthers' Brewing, just 2 doors down, where Jason had planned to get drinks at one of their first date locations.
